Connection to adjoining spaces was a main driver for this growing family of four. Having spent several months living in this DC colonial before deciding to renovate, the clients knew a connection to the dining room and the existing screen porch, where they would enjoy dining from spring through fall, would be equally important. This presented the opportunity for a custom designed and commissioned bi-fold window, complete with stone sill/ledge that would allow for easy conversation and serving to the screen porch. The kitchen was then opened to the dining room to allow for a light and breezy floor plan for entertaining.
